Welcome to the City Of Yutan.
The Yutan City Organization
Under a Mayor-Council form of government the City is governed by a Mayor and four City Council members. The Mayor is elected at-large to a four-year term. City Council members are elected from two wards to staggered four year terms. The Mayor, with confirmation from the City Council, appoints a professional City Administrator to manage the day-to-day operation of the City. The Mayor and City Council meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00p.m., at City Hall located at 112 Vine St.
The City has benefited from a stable elected body that provides policy direction to the staff who are responsible for daily operations. Annually, the Mayor and City Council meet for a strategic and financial planning session, which focuses on the City’s future by identifying a vision for the City. The Council’s vision includes items such as:
* adequate city facilities
* quality, diverse development
* Stable tax policies
* cost efficient services
* effective leadership
* goal-driven city government
The City is served by six departments: Administration, Community Development, Library, Police, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation. City’s fiscal year runs October 1 – September 30. The Total City budget in all funds in Fiscal Year 2007 is $727,000.
